2010 Tournament Schedule
Dear Winner’s Circle Patrons,
Now that the Holidays have passed, we are full speed ahead with the 2010 event. Plans are being finalized for
the eleventh annual Mike Schmidt Winner's Circle Invitational. The dates are set: May 8 the gala/auction at
Admiral’s Cove and May 12-15 the tournament at Old Bahama Bay. Gary Peel of Peel Graphics is returning
this year as Tournament Director.
Last year’s showing was unbelievable, considering the state of the economy; forty boats participated. In our ten
years, we have raised over $1,250,000 to fight cystic fibrosis and we’re on our way to $2,000,000. Many in our
area have said we are the most successful fishing fundraiser going and one of the few still standing.
Some rumors have cropped up regarding Old Bahama Bay and the Ginn Sur Mer development. Old Bahama
Bay did close for a month downsizing the operation and staff, in an effort to adjust to the economy. They have
assured us that service in 2010 will be as good as or better than ever, and welcome us back. Ginn sur Mer has
indicated that the golf course will be finished and we may want to bring our clubs and stay an extra day or two.
This year, rooms will be available for $210 per night (all inclusive), double occupancy, for 4 nights, Wed. – Sat.
Please make your reservations promptly once you have submitted your entry form, and we ask that you limit
your request to two rooms, until we get closer to May and have an idea of the number of entries.
Slip rental has also been simplified in 2010: $1.00 per ft. per night, plus water and electricity at normal rates.
Slips reservations will be taken in conjunction with your entry application through Marie Cook at CFF.
As always, sponsorships, auction items, and corporate host boat charters are the driving force in allowing us to
reach our annual goal. The basic boat entry fee of $1500 (for four anglers), which was lowered last year, has
become a breakeven after expenses are factored. Personal donations are always welcome, and please be on
the lookout for auction items and potential sponsors. We have several boats donated specifically for charter.
The Tournament Committee is considering suggestions such as longer fishing days, a small boat event within
the event, and a fun golf competition one afternoon. Two of the OBB cocktail receptions are open for
sponsorship, as is apparel for gift bags, and the “big ones,” Title and Presenting.

Hope you will join us!
